This resource is dedicated to my husband, who approaches my sock drawer with trepidation, as if I just asked him to find my favorite tampons at the pharmacy. I understand his dilemma, because for someone like me with chronic pain, getting to sleep at night is more of a circus act than it is a science. It begins with massaging my neck, then stretching out my other aches. I wrap an ice pack around my head while I brush my teeth and put on multiple layers of pajamas. Then I take my usual pills, each of which is strong enough to sedate an elephant, and if I'm having a migraine, a second round of pills is in order. I read in the light of my green migraine lamp until the drugs (hopefully) kick in, and then it's time...time to change my socks!
My nite routine is electric blanket on to warm the bed (summer excluded Urr mostly the UK can be unpredictable.
One pillow discarded and the fave pillow remains (it's a bit fatter than its brother.. Pj's the right ones given the climate I sweat even when it's cold sometimes in the middle of the nite due to memory foam mattress.
Socks um mostly fluffy bed socks. That said as a housebound I'll health person I have a wide array of hiking socks, wool socks, long socks, leg warmers and regular socks. I find the multi layer approach essential. I'd like to share about the hairdryer technique... Do u know it? Let me know
Then it's tablets, maybe gel cool packs on head depending on pain level, jaw guard in (glad I don't have a partner to see this it's not conducive to sex appeal :) ear plugs in oh and prayers.
Lites off and final adjustments to position and blankets and good nite to all xx 💜 🙏
So, my feet get so cold sometimes like stone cold blocks of ice. One day I was desperate for relief and there sat my hairdryer. Switch on, blow the hot air onto feet and rub ooohhh the relief. Obvs don't hold too close or said cold feet would do something which I feel wouldn't be v appealing.
The advanced stage is to then blow the hairdryer into the top of the socks before putting back on oh my this is bliss. Toasty warm blankets around tootsies.
*caution don't do for too long or the fire alarms will ring :)
This is hilarious!
I have to wear my socks only halfway some can kick or pry them off with my other foot in the middle of the night.
So funny I'm laughing yay!

Hi Emma. I do not know the hair dryer technique, please share 😊

I'm off to blow....
It’s a brilliant idea!
So good!
I love your drawings! I live in Costco socks while I'm at home. They're so thick and cozy!
