I’m glad there nurses at the urgent care! I don’t know if there is a nursing shortage in Canada, but down here, a nurse friend of mine has switched jobs I think 4 times in the past year. She can afford to be picky because she is so desperately needed!
I listened to your story and get it totally. In fact, if you care to connect with hundreds of people who are living this way and we have uplifting meetings on the phone, on video (zoom), and more. Lots of us have this same story and more. I think you would enjoy our group of "missing people". Its called www.chronicpainanonymous.org. Click on the resource tabs and listen to some of the stories we have recorded and read some of our literature and visit a meeting if you wish. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
Sad but hilarious, as usual. Wonderful to hear your voice! Since I worked there for many years but never during Covid, I was surprised at your lack of care in the hallway. I trust things got better that day.
I’m also an ER frequent flyer! Very funny and yes, that third person wanting to do an EKG, that is real, my friends. All of this is real. Next time I’ll ask for the closet. Great work, Natalie!
Yes I’m sure you know as a fellow ER expert that this stuff is too crazy to make up! And I have actually asked for the closet again, but no luck. I guess it was a one-time deal.
I don't know how you can make a hospital entertaining lol. The hospital themed shampoo commercial had me rolling 😁
Having just spent all day last Sunday in an urgent care center, I sympathize. My nurses were nice though. Not friendly, but at least cordial lol.

Shortages in the medical field are so shitty! It's the most needed thing.
I don't know if we have a shortage or not because I never have to go to the hospital. This trip was the first time since kidney stones 7 years ago.
I don't envy you 😐
Great Jeopardy bio. You managed to write about this ordeal with humor. I’m guessing that helped you get thru it. 🙏
Thanks, humor always helps when it can be summoned!

But did they give you an EKG?
Hmm, good question…. 🤔

They should have a card punch thing like Starbucks. 5 visits, you get the closet.
Brilliant idea!
I work in a hospital (with an exit plan) and all I do is laugh and cry all day due to the hellscape of absurdities. The docs are leaving too. 😵💫
Oh gosh, that sounds terrible. At least I got to leave and not come back for a while 😅
